William arrived in Nova Scotia with his parents in 1774. On 1 Nov 1796 at Maccan, Cumberland Nova Scotia he married Jane Coates (1779-1853) d/o Thomas Coates Jr (1741-1813) & Ann Martha Hood (?-1780)
They had 13 children:
Sarah (1797-1867), Thomas Sr (1799-1880), Edward (1801-1886), William Jr (1803-1867), John (1804-1862), Ann Hood (1806-1856), Joseph (1809-1902), James Coates (1811-1888), Robert Coates Sr (1813-1867), Jane M (1815-1907), Luke (1817-1868), Brown (1819-1903), Hannah (1821-1877).

The cemetery is also known as 'The Harrison Orchard Cemetery' It is located on the original homestead of John & Sarah Harrison
There is no definitive knowledge on exact numbers of persons buried here
Susan Hill's book: Some Cumberland County, Nova Scotia Cemeteries (1997) lists 17 people.
A letter 1970's from Ernest Coates to Norman Fulmer Harrison (family historian) indicates there were 17 graves and that were only marked by mounds of earth and a field stone placed on each. Ernest's letter lists 11 names (William is #3).
