Son of Walter and Martha Brewer Blankenship.
Married Amanda Elizabeth Murray May 8, 1948 in London, KY. She preceded him in death December 15, 2010.
Survivors include children Walter Ed (Vicky) Blankenship, Gary Wayne (Gina) Blankenship, Kathy Nadine (David) Poll, Ralph Dennis (Christy) Blankenship, Karen Jane (Alan) Clodfelder, Martha Karolyn (Mike) Rookstool, James Earl (Marcia) Blankenship and Leisa Ann (Scott) Minick; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by sons Robert Lee and Clyde Dale Blankenship, step-grandson Marc Billingsley, brother Ed Blankenship and sisters Gladys Jewitt, Corrine Phillips, Kathryn Marcum, Bessie Hauley and Lessie Collins.

Educated in London, Kenutcky.

Veteran of the US Army serving in World War II.

Worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company for 39 years, retiring in 1989.

Attended the Church of God in Veedersburg.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and mushrooming and to whittle.

Service 11am Friday Aug. 5 at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with James Blankenship speaking. Graveside military honors.
Visitation 4-8pm Thursday.

Memorial donations to the Fountain Central Archery Club.
