Lucinda "Cindy" McGaughey was born on December 15, 1833 in Russellville, Putnam Co., Indiana and died on June 28, 1898 in Lamoni, Decatur Co., Iowa and was buried at the Creveling Cemetery, Lamoni, Decatur Co., Iowa. Lucinda was married to Elijah "Eli" "Doc" "Dock" Hugh Riggs (son of Samuel Riggs and Rhoda Belcher). Elijah was born on January 22, 1830 in Kentucky and died on July 28, 1873 Elijah died at the age of 43 years, 6 months, 6 days of consumption (TB) and was buried at the Creveling Cemetery, Lamoni, Decatur Co., Iowa. Elijah was a Baptist Minister, a new minister at the Terre Haute Church, starting in 1872. Elijah and Lucinda lived between Andover and Blythedale, Missouri (no building is left at this location). In 1865 they lived in Florence, Kansas; 1867 still in Florence, Kansas with his brother Pete Riggs.
