Gertrude E. Givens, 81, wife of Benjamin M. Givens, 2615 Kingston Road, and formerly of 23 N. Albemarle St., died Tuesday morning at York Hospital. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Workinger Funeral Home, 849 E. Market St., with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery. There will be no viewing. Mrs. Givens was born in York, daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Barnhart) Seacrist. She was a 50-year member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and Sunday School. Surviving are two sons, Benjamin M. Givens Jr., Vienna, Va., and Richard S. Givens, York; two daughters, Phyllis C. Winkelman and Olive A. Gibson, both of York; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Paul E. Seacrist and Frederick C. Seacrist, both of York; and two sisters, Grace M. Strathmeyer, York, and Ruth A. Burke, Red Lion. Officiating will be the Rev. David A. Houseal. He will be assisted by Mrs. Givens' grandson, the Rev. Thom C. Gibson. [York Daily Record]
