Philip John Hudgens, Sr., 61, of Porter, Texas passed away at his home surrounded by his family and close friends on July 27, 2016.

Phil is survived by his wife Julie of 42 years; son Philip and daughter-in-law Alicia Hudgens; daughter Lindsey and son-in-law Kevin Beck; grandchildren Claire and Adam Hudgens; mother Joan Hudgens; siblings Jim Hudgens, Kenneth Hudgens, and Linda Drilling, and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father James (Jim) Hudgens, Sr. Phil was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all.

Phil retired as a District Chief from the Houston Fire Department with nearly 40 years of distinguished service. Phil enjoyed the brotherhood of the fire department and made many lifelong friends during his career. Phil was an active member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Porter for over 30 years. He was also an avid golfer who spent many hours on the golf course. Phil will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, TX from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services for Phil will be held at Faith Family Baptist Church in Kingwood, TX on Monday, August 1 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to Friendship United Methodist Church or to Firefighters Helping Firefighters.
