Lloyd Fenimore Ahrenstorff, the first born son of Harry and Wilma (Sampson) Ahrenstorff was born on the family farm near Melvin, IA on July 14, 1925. Brothers Gary and Gordon later joined the family. He attended country school through 7th grade and went on to attend Melvin High School. Following his school years he worked on the family farm and at a packing house in Sioux City, IA.

In 1945 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during WWII. Lloyd served on the USS Carrier Ship called The Randolph, bringing troops home from overseas. While on leave from the Navy he married his high school sweetheart, Beulah Benz, on November 7, 1945 in Worthington, MN. To this union three children were born: Randy, Ron and Connie. Following Lloyd's honorable discharge in 1946, the couple began farming in the Melvin area until retiring in the early 1990's. Following their retirement they built a home in Spencer, IA and moved there in 1992. On November 7, 2013 Lloyd and Beulah celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Lloyd passed away at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, IA on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the age 88.

Lloyd enjoyed hunting, card clubs, playing pool, westerns, the stock markets and visiting with fellow farmers. His favorite times were those spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The times spent with Beulah both working and having fun were always cherished by Lloyd.

Survivors include Beulah, his wife of 68 years; children: Randy Ahrenstorff and his wife, Barb, of Hartley, IA; Ron Ahrenstorff of Spirit Lake, IA and Connie Heien and her husband, Marc, of Spencer, IA, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and both of his brothers.
