Cletes Edward Fears was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on January 13, 1947, to William Wallace Fears and Alta May (Napier) Fears. He passed away on July 27, 2016, at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Center in Muskogee at the age of 69 years 6 months and 14 days.

Cletes grew up in Cherokee County and attended Woodall and Maynard Schools.

Cletes married Ellen Keys and they would began their life and family together. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and truck driver as well as owning convenience stores in Woodall and Tahlequah.

Cletes always enjoyed going fishing, hunting, horseback riding, fun people, and pulling a good prank now and then. He got much enjoyment out of fixing cars and working in his garden and yard.

Cletes was preceded in death by a son, James Casady; six siblings, Cleo Fears, Waco Fears, Ludena Taylor, Icalee White, Billie Sue Ward, and Alma Mae Wallace.

He leaves behind his wife, Ellen of the home; two sons, Sandy Fears and wife April of Fort Gibson, and Ken Fears and wife Robin also of Fort Gibson; a daughter-in-law, Mona Casady; seven grandchildren, Justin Fears, Michelle Casady, Kayla Fears, Colton Fears, Morgan Fears, David Casady and Jamee Fears; three great grandchildren; his sister, Hazel Martin of Dumas, Texas; several nieces and nephews; many other extended family members; and dear friends.

Cletes was always there to help out his friends and family and will be missed by them greatly.
