PEI's PARO marriage records show Silas was a resident of Lot 19 in 1865 when he married Emily Cannon, resident of Lot 3.

The 1881 census of Lot 3 found Silas and Emily living on their farm with seven children - Mary Amanda (b: 7-1-1867), Benjamin Isaac (b: 2-27-1869), James (b: 2-20-1871), Joseph W (b: 5-1-1874), Emily Ann (b: 3-31-1876), Archibald Haywood (b: 7-13-1878) and Elijah Hardy (b: 11-13-1880).

At the 1901 census Silas and Emily were living on their Lot 3 farm in Kildare with 3 children - Joseph W (b: 5-1-1874), Irene (b: 9-25-1882) and Charles (b: 12-12-1888). Silas declared his birthdate was April 9 1841. The April 1921 census found Silas and Emily still in Kildare, living with their 11 year old grandson Weston.
