At the 1901 census James and Jessie were living on their Lot 3 farm in Kildare with four children - Amanda (b: 3-28-1896), Emily Ruth (b: 8-4-1897), Gladys (b: 12-8-1898) and Jennie (b: 2-14-1901). The 1921 census found James and Jessie still farming in Kildare with five children - Marshall (17), James Russell (15), Edith (14), Wallace (11) and Helen (6).
