A few of the Iversons and Ericksons from Minnesota came to southern Alberta in 1909 and later. Dick worked and farmed, prospering and building up a fine farmstead in the Conquerville area. In the summer of 1928, they visited California and decided to move there. After harvest of that year he sold his land to William Friedenberg and moved his family consisting of wife Alice, sons Max and Clarke and daughter June to Atascadero, California. There they took up poultry ranching, specializing in egg production and made a successful business out of it.
