Sarah Brown Weeks Cobb, a resident of Webb, died Thursday morning, July 28, 2016, in the Wesley Manor Retirement Center in Dothan. She was 87.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 30, 2016, in the Webb Baptist Church with Reverend Joel Laseter officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary. At other times, the family will be at the home of Lamar and Kay Ivey, 3051 Enon Road, Webb, AL 36376.

Mrs. Cobb was born and reared in Malvern, Alabama, daughter of the late Joseph H. Brown and Sarah Swann Brown. She lived in Ashford and Enterprise before moving to Webb in 2002. Mrs. Cobb was retired as the owner and operator of Sarah’s House of Flowers in Ashford. In earlier years, she was employed as a substitute teacher in Ashford and also taught physical education and coached girls basketball at Fadette and Slocomb. Mrs. Cobb was a member of the Webb Baptist Church and was a former member of the Ashford United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Ashford Study Club and the Enterprise Garden Club. Mrs. Cobb was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Elkins Cobb, and an infant son.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Kay Ivey (Lamar), Webb; and Sally Weeks, Dothan; a grandson, Jamar Ivey (Allison), and a great-granddaughter, Amelia Ivey; the father of Mrs. Cobb’s daughters, Charles S. Weeks, Ashford; special friends, Addie Allen and Betty Ivey; numerous nieces and nephews.
