Mr. Bennett died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1987, in a Tyler hospital.
He was born in Anderson County on June 6, 1910, a son of William Robert and Iciphenia Kennedy Bennett. He was a retired conductor for Union Pacific Railroad and a member of the United Transportation Union.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by a son, Larry Eldridge Bennett; brothers, W.T., and Fagan; and sister, Dorris.
Survivors include his wife, Callie Corene Chapman Bennett of Elkhart; daughters, Norma Murray of Whitehouse, and Glenda Brimberry of Denton; sons, Clyde Gary Bennett of Spring, and William Robert Bennett of Gunter; sisters, Junie Rosson of Bristol, Adelle Trigg of Elkhart, Lula Gray, and Doris Roquemore, both of Palestine; a twin brother, Elwin Bennett of Lafayette, La., nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary Vonn Murray, Douglass Murray, Gary Snider Bennett, Brent Brimberry, Randy Brimberry, and Artie Gene Lively.
