9-14-22 Sandy (47273555) informs Charles was born in Gallatin Co. IL, vs. Saline County as reported on the death certificate because his parents were in the Gallatin Co. IL 1840 census.
It's found Saline County was formed from Gallatin in 1847 and didn't exist when Charles was born, so his parents may not have moved, ks.
9-15-22 additional info from Sandy:
On the 1830 and 1840 census they were living in Monroe Township in Gallatin County, Illinois. After Saline County was formed Monroe Township went away so it was probably part of the area that became Saline County. According to land records they did not purchase land in Gallatin county. I also checked the neighbors and I don't think that they ever moved as they seem to have the same families living around them in 1830 thru 1850. Monroe Township in Gallatin County would have become Stonefort Township in Saline County. The Millers were in the South America community which is north of Carrier Mills.
