Window curtains which caught fire while she was attempting to light an oil lamp last night ignited the clothing of Mrs. George Melick, 72 years old, 6416 Bellefontaine Street, burning her painfully about the arms and upper part of the body. Mrs. Melick was in her room in the upstairs of the home of her son-in-law, Charles Roberts, with whom she lives, when the accident occurred. Mr. Roberts rushed to her assistance and stamped out the flames before Mrs. Melick was more severely burned and before much damage was caused by the fire. Motor Policemen from the Broad Ripple substation sent her to the City hospital.
