JACKMAN - Theda E. Lumbert, 94, of Jackman, passed away on July 21, 2016, at Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan, surrounded by her loving family. Theda was born on Oct. 25, 1921, in Ashland, the daughter of Leonard and Drusilla (Shaw) Mack. She was educated in the local schools and graduated from Island Falls High School.

She moved to Jackman in the early 1940s with her father who worked in the woods. Jackman is where she met and later married Clinton C. Lumbert Sr. and where they lived and raised their family.

Her last four years were spent in Skowhegan at Redington Memorial Home, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The family wishes to thank the Redington staff for their exceptional care of our mother.

Theda was a great cook; she liked to knit and enjoyed going to church. Theda will be best remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clinton C. Lumbert Sr.; two brothers, Basil Mack and Harry Mack; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Worcester.

Theda is survived by her three sons, Keith Lumbert and his wife Gaetane of South Portland, Charlie Lumbert and his wife Michelle of Jackman, and David Lumbert and his wife Paula of Calais. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, including her granddaughter Barbara Lumbert whom she raised; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gary Mack.

Burial will be in Whipple Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral Home, Bingham. (Central Maine Newspapers 7/23/2016)
