City Employee, Dies
John G, Vander Werf, 59, 100 Carson St., died Saturday morning in Pella Community hospital.
An employee of the city of Pella for the last 11 years, he previously had operated a trucking line here for some 30 years.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Van Dyk-Duven funeral home. The Rev Harmon Wierenga officiated. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, where Pella lodge, A F. and A.M., conducted Masonic rites.
Mr. Vander Werf is survived by his wife, the former Erma Koopman; three sons, Stanley, Douglas and Glen; his mother, Mrs. John Vander Werf, Pella, and a brother, Hubert, of Pella.
