Donna was born on December 19, 1933, to Kenneth and Lona Hall in Jamestown, ND, where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Jamestown High School as valedictorian in 1951 and from Jamestown College in 1955 with a double major in accounting and education. Donna taught in Worland, WY, for one year. She married Ernest Borr in 1957. She was a stay-at-home mom while the children were pre-school age and then she worked for various accounting businesses. In 1973, Donna was employed at Mandan Public School’s business office where she served as an accountant until her retirement in 1995.
Her special interests included her family, bridge, mahjongg, reading, traveling, cruises, and singing soprano in the Viewpoint Classic Chorale and church choirs. Donna and Ernie traveled extensively in their motor home – visiting every state including Alaska and Hawaii, and several Canadian provinces.
Donna is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ernest; son, David (Donna); son, Thomas (Lori); son, Richard; daughter, Karen; son, Michael (Mari); grandchildren, Kimberly (Nolan) Schaefbauer, Linda (Chad) Mertz, Brian (Jessika) Borr, and Anthony Borr; great-grandchildren, Madison, Evan, Charlotte, and Andrew; brothers, Richard (Geneal) and Keith (Sue); and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
