Husband to Sarah Pamelia "Meade" Strother Kelly; Father to W.T. Kelly and Riley Truly "Buddy" Kelly, as well as Walter T Kelly Jr and Thelma Louise Kelly Millican (with first marriage); Long time owner of the Cosmopolitan Bar and Hotel and Pappy's Bar in Oakdale, La, and he was a grandfather and great grandfather of many. Son of Martha J Travis Kelley & James Edward Kelley. He was a Maverick and the only son to drop the 2nd E in the Kelley last name.
Fishing with his boys, W.T. & Buddy and playing dominos was his passion and love. He lived his last 10 years or so in a nursing home in Oakdale, La., after contracting Serousis of the liver.
In his latter years, he was able to go to California to stay with his daughter, Louise, her children and grandchildren, and his first wife Effie.
He was always saddened by the loss of his first born, Walter Theo Kelly Jr, who is listed as "MIA" from WWII, and his body never recovered. Since his death, a memorial; was erected to his son both in Cambridge England and Arlington Virginia cemeteries - He would have been so proud.
"Pappy" Kelly was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Pamelia "Meade" Strother Kelly, His Oldest son, Walter Theo Kelly, Jr., , his parents James Edward Kelley & Martha Jane Travis Kelley, as well as brothers John Cleveland Kelley and William Edward (Eddie) Kelley and sister Ethyl Kelley Strother. Since his death, all his children have passed away.
