Richard LaMar Christensen, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on June 18, 2000 due to pneumonia.

Born April 11, 1938 in Corona, California to Frank LaMar Christensen and Beulah Roberts Christensen. He married LaRene Whittle on May 12, 1962 in Oakley, Idaho. Chris graduated from Jordan High School and Weber State College.

He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1993. He was a member of the LDS Church, and actively participated in genealogy and family history. Richard endured three different types of cancer over a period of 25 years with quiet dignity.

Chris is survived by his father, F. LaMar; wife, LaRene; three children: Kelli Christensen of Springfield, Missouri; Valori (Alan) Layton of Eagle Mountain, UT; Brian (Jennifer) Christensen of Colorado Springs, Co. He has four grandchildren: Joshua Christensen, Benjamin, Matthew, and Sarah Layton.

Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Christensen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2000 at Crestwood Stake Center, 855 Mutton Hollow Road in Kaysville. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, and at the church one hour prior to service.

Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, 7800 South 3115 East, Salt Lake.
