Our very beloved Richard Doyle Permenter, also known by his CB handle "Left Lane", 77, returned home to his Heavenly Father on July 15, 2016 due to congestive heart failure. A history of heart trouble has followed him for a long while and he is now at rest. He passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Castor, LA.

Richard was born in Converse, LA on January 12, 1939 to parents Clarine and Jesse Permenter. His other family members include sisters Margie and Earnestine, brothers Wayne and Randal (Mary Jane), brother/nephew Roger, and many other nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

He graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1958 and enlisted in the US Army on April 29, 1959. Which led to his deployed to Korea. He was an awarded expert marksman and was proud to serve his country.

There are many things to include in long his list of skill sets. He was talented in many areas and had done many things including ranching, off shore oil field work, bus driving, he was an EMT, and so many more. But his favorite was driving truck. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and enjoying time with family and friends. And of course, he had some great stories to accompany each of his experiences.

He married the love of his life, Royalene Permenter, on November 6, 1986. They were married in Raton, NM. He was Dad to Royal & Heather Hart and Corky & David Johnson. Grandpa to Jacob Hart, Kristepher Hart, Brittany Capell, Mary Hart, Samuel Hart, John Johnson, and Annie Johnson. And had 7 great grandchildren. He is very loved by his family and had such a love for them as well. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
