Mr. Thoren was born in Des Moines and lived here all of his life. He was a self-employed denture technician, a member of East Gate Lodge 630 and of the Des Moines Consistory.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Sheila Thoren and Brenda Thoren, both of Des Moines; a son, LaVerne Jr. of Des Moines; four brothers, Alvin and Elmer, both of Des Moines, Gilbert of Hiawatha, and Ralph of Solon; a sister Marilyn Travis of Cedar Rapids; and one grandson
