Ervin Ray Thompson, 79, of Oklahoma City, passed away July 17, 2016. He was born September 29, 1936, to Ervin Brown and Hazel Lucille (Mangum) Thompson in Oklahoma City.
Ervin has been a member of Step of Faith Fellowship since 2005.
Survived by five children, daughter Tracy Coots (husband Jimmy) of Norman, son Marc Thompson (wife Penni) of Salt Lake City, daughter Kelly Larson (husband Kelly) of Austin, Texas, daughter Valerie Gibbons (husband Sean) of Las Vegas, daughter Julie VanDenBerghe (husband Tom) of Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren, Aubrey, Garry (wife Melissa), Jordan, Jessica (husband Dustin), Taylor, Lindsey (husband Andrew), Christopher, Hannah, Isaac, Parker, Brendan, Madison, Morgan (husband Brock), Nathaniel (wife Kasey), Brinley, and Thomas; 8 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Marren, Hudson, Hadley, Holden, Cooper, Evan, and Joseph; sister, Priscilla Miller (husband Carroll) of Newcastle, brother, Michael Thompson (wife Dana) of Eufaula; former wife, Morene Van Horn of Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Preceded in death by a sister, Cherrie Lee Jay, his father, Brown Thompson; mother, Hazel Bewley; step-father, Cletus Bewley; and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services for Ervin will be held at 10 am, Thursday, July 21, 2016, at the John Ireland Funeral Home chapel, Moore, interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Services are under the direction of the John Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, Oklahoma.
