Donald Earl Floyd, son of Udell and Dorothy (Rinne) Floyd, was born at Licking, MO on December 13, 1936 and departed this life in a car accident March 24, 1992.
He joined Mount Olive Baptist Church at about nine years of age and has recently been attending the Christian Church at Roby. He was united in marriage on September 20, 1958 to Dixie Darlena Wilson and to this union three sons were born.
Preceding Donald in death were his mother, Dorothy, two nephews, Richard Barton and Chad Quick, and one step-nephew, Kirk Campbell.
Survivors left behind to mourn his loss are his wife Darlena, his sons, and their wives, Kevin and Cheryl Floyd of Mountain Grove, MO, Jeff and Mary Floyd of Memphis, TN and Darren and Debbie Floyd of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren, Carrie, Jacob, Telena and D.J. Floyd, one step-grandchild, Jarrod McLendon, his father, Udell of Montauk, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rado and Viola Wilson of Raymondville: six sisters, Joyce Crum, Reggie Ward, Betty Quick, Dot Pursifull and Pat Buckner of Licking and Carolyn Bell of Houston; two brothers Vernon of Mexico, MO and Leonard of Licking, eight brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. He was special to us all.
Services were held March 27, 1992, 2:00 p.m. at the Licking Christian Church with Mr. Terry Key officiating. Pallbearers were: Bobby Don Jones, Larry Jones, Richard Holt, Harry Buckner, Ray Wallace and Dwight Duncan. Interment was in the Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
