Funeral services for Mrs. Faye Dean Ashley, 80, of Oak Grove, LA. will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home Chapel, in Oak Grove, LA. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, LA. under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Oak Grove.
Mrs. Faye was born on October 10, 1935 in Lake Providence, LA. and passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, in Alexandria, LA. after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loved ones when she found peace.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert "Pete" Ashley; parents, Claude and Katherine Boyte; brother, Lawrence "Cracker" Boyte; sister, Linda "Dobber" Rowell; nephew, Jeffrey Easterling.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Vaughan and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Michael Vaughan, Ashley Stephens and husband, Justin; and Danyail Ashley; great grandchildren, Samantha Hagan, Jeremy Wilson, Mackenzia Wilson, Malaiki Wilson, Gracie Vaughan, Waylon Stephens, Everley Fay Stephens, Kyler Garrett, and Mazie Vaughan; brothers, Cecil Boyte and wife, Joyce; Claude "Junior" Boyte and wife, Denise; George Boyte and wife, Barbara; sisters, Shirley Minton and husband, Jessie and Geraldine Easterling and husband, Buddy.
She was blessed to have 20 nephews and nieces who all loved their Aunt Faye dearly. They liked for her to tell them stories of the things she had done or that had happened to her and Uncle Pete. Everyone enjoyed her unique home cooking and family gatherings in their home. She let us know that she was Mother Hen to all of us. She loved singing gospel music, watching religious programs and baseball on TV. She will truly leave an empty space in our hearts and lives.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016, from 5:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
