Amanda Belle Mayfield, daughter of Thomas J. and Henrietta Trusty, was born on February 27, 1872. She was converted at Boone Creek church at an early age and remained a devoted member all her life. Her courage and deep understanding, tempered always with humor, bore eloquent testimony of her boundless faith.

On December 17, 1893, she became the wife of Thomas W. Mayfield. To this union six children were born: Joe T. Mayfield, Licking, Mo.; Ernest W. Mayfield, Stickney, Mo.; Mrs. H.M. Curtis, Plainview, Texas; Clarence T. Mayfield, Houston, Mo.; Elmer Mayfield, San Diego, California.

She departed this life on July 8, 1942, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 11 days. Her death culminated a lengthy and painful illness.

Her husband preceded her in death on April 24, 1932.

She is survived by her six children; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Ramsey, Duke, Mo.; Mrs. Callie Sutton, Licking, Mo.; Mrs. Irene DeForest, Farmington, Mo.; and one brother, Lochiel Trusty, Farmington, Mo. and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her friendly, gracious personality endeared her to all who knew her. The memory of her loving kindness will warm our hearts forever. --contributed.
