Ruth Ann Tate, 86 of Louisville, KY, passed from this world on July 14, 2016. She was born in Nashville, TN, to the late Walter & Bettie Lee Page. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Joe W. Tate and her brother, Thomas W. Page. To carry on her beautiful memory are her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and life-long friends - including her childhood friend . Ruth spent her life in service to others through PTA/Booster Clubs (band and sports), Volunteer and/or Office Staff or just a fan in the crowd for Valley, Layne, and Eisenhower Elementary Schools, Stuart Junior, Middle and Senior, Shawnee, Butler Traditional and Valley High Schools and Spartan Youth Sports. She was a leader in scouting - Girls and Boys, active in her church, Bethany United Methodist - her chocolate pies were almost a ministry in themselves; and she was literally known across the world for her brownies. She loved country music and playing games. Spending time with her family was what she lived for. Visitation will be Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. and a service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held on Sunday at 4:00 pm at W. G. Hardy Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 10907 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. She will be laid to rest in Bethany Cemetery next to her husband. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church. SOURCEPublished in The Courier-Journal on July 16, 2016
