Independence - Donald (Huff) Cobine, 88, of Independence died on July 7, 2016. He was born in Buena Vista, Oregon on June 2, 1928 to Charles & Willa Cobine.
Donald enlisted with the U.S. Navy in 1944. He was honorably discharged in 1945 as a WWII Veteran. He then joined the U.S. Merchant Marines in 1951.
In 1958, Donald married the love of his life, Dalene M. O'Harra. Together they raised five children on the family farm in Independence: Marian, Melody, Daniel, Cindy, and Wilona.
Donald was an exceptional farmer for over 70 years of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, local history, and travel.
Donald is preceded in death by Melody Cobine Ciotti. Survivors include his wife Dalene Cobine, Children: Daniel Cobine, Cindy Cobine Dale (Rod Killen), Wilona Cobine, Marian Fitts (Robert), 8 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
