On the morning of Mar. 14, 1905, 9 o'clock, at her home 5 miles southeast of Licking, this good woman passed away aged nearly 67 years. She was the wife of Judge J. P. Thornton, and the daughter of James Bradford, one of the pioneer settlers of the county. She was married to J. P. Thornton 6 Mar. 1856 and to them were born fourteen children, seven of whom survive her. Aunt Frankie suffered terrible agony for weeks, but with Christian fortitude seldom equaled. Her poor old body racked with pain, and but few moments passed during her long confinement but what death would have been a welcome visitor. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Foster at the Boone Creek church Wednesday where she had worshipped for more than a quarter of a century, after which all that was mortal of a good wife and loving mother was lowered to its resting place in Boone Creek Cemetery. The Star joins the many friends and relatives in sorrowing for the dear departed.
