He was a retired employee from Frederick Iron and Steel Co., and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Roy F. Adkins, Jr., Carrollton, Tx.; daughter, Janice Mentzer, Middletown; two grandsons; three brothers, Glenn Adkins, Indianapolis, In.; Elmer Adkins, Middletown; and Lee Adkins, Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela L. Adkins; and one sister, Elsie Miller.
Services were held at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown; interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
