Paul Victor Ricard, 68, of Conner, Montana, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, at his home in Conner.
Paul was born May 14, 1948, in Saco, Maine, the son of Raymond Victor and Jeannette Turgeon Ricard. He graduated from Sanford High School in 1966. He then attended the Maine Merchant Marine Academy and later graduated from Southern Maine Technical Institute earning his degree in building construction. Paul proudly served his country in the military as a U.S. Marine from September 1967 to April of 1969. He served in Vietnam as a combat engineer and was awarded the Purple Heart medal for wounds received in combat.
Paul married Barbara Couture on Dec. 16, 1969. He worked as a building contractor in both Maine and Hamilton. Paul was a member of the NRA and the Hamilton Trap Club. He enjoyed his family, friends and was an avid sportsman. He was passionate about hunting and fishing adventures and also enjoyed the companionship of his dogs.
Paul was preceded in death by his son, Heath Ricard; parents, Raymond and Jeanette Ricard; and a sister Rochelle Crowe.
Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Conner; son, Garret and his wife, Erin, of Carlsbad, New Mexico; granddaughter, Elena and a grandson, Collin; sisters, Paulette, of New York City, New York, and Lorette of Waterboro, Maine.
A gathering to celebrate Paul's life was held at the family home in Conner. Arrangements are under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.
The family suggests memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for a Cure of Parkinson's Disease.
