RITES MONDAY FOR MEMBER OF PIONEER ROBERTSON FAMILY
A funeral service will be held Monday for Robert Robertson, member of a Lane County pioneer famiy and former Eugene-area automobile dealer. He died Thursday.
Robertson, 74, was born Feb. 13, 1898, in Walton. He died at Sacred Heart General Hospital in Eugene.
Robertson's father's family came to Lane County with the Zumwalt wagon train in 1851, and his mother's family arrived in 1853 with the McClure wagon train.
Robertson and his wife, Daisie, were married in Eugene on Aug. 24, 1919.
His business interests, before his retirement in 1959, included a partnership with Harold Parmenter in the Cascade Motor Co., a Pontiac dealership, and another with Cyril Perry in the Robertson-Perry Co., a Packard dealership.
Following his retirement in 1959, Robertson and his wife moved to five acres of land on Gate Creek near Vida.
Robertson was a member of the First Christian Church, of McKenzie River River Lodge 195 AF&AM, of the Al Kader Temple and of the Ivanhoe Commandry of the Knights Templer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert, and a daughter, Faye Hemenway, both of Eugene; four brothers, William, Neal and Glen, all of Eugene, and John, of Walton; a sister, Nora Wells of Prineville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Lounsbury-Musgrove Mortuary.
