Junior Abbott, 85, a resident of Pleasant Valley, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at his daughter's home in Geneseo, Illinois

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008, at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Junior was born January 10, 1923, in Hartford, Missouri, the son of George Riley and Emma Frances (Cassidy) Abbott. He was retired from the Alcoa Company, Davenport Works, where he was employed for 28 years.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Nancy Colflesh, of Geneseo, Illinois; his sons, Stanley Abbott and Gary Abbott, of Donahue, Iowa; his four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and his brother, Journey Abbott, of Davenport.
