Reita was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, except her youngest Dorothy Lamb, who lives in San Miguel, California.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years James Byford ;and their children, daughter Joanna and her husband David and their son Dominic; son Charles and his wife Desta, and their children Cohen and Allie; her daughter Rebecca, her husband Jeff and their children Jessica, Andrew and Justin; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Reita was an active and dedicated lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She served her community in many capacities during her lifetime; phone operator, owner of the M Street Market, bus driver for children with special needs, Certified Nursing Assistant, driver and chaperone for many events with her children, and second mother to many of her children’s friends. She loved her children and grandchildren, movies, swimming, reading, crocheting, and watching crime dramas and game shows on TV. Her laugh and warm smile will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at 11a.m. at 462 Fox Hill Ln Lane in Roseburg.
