Born in Jubilee Township May 12, 1882, he was a son of Ebenezer King and Margaret (Powers) King, and had resided in Peoria 40 years. He married Mildred Hofer, June 23, 1915, in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Dr. Fredrick King of Rochester, Minn., former principal of Thomas Jefferson School here, Roy C. King and Gerald R. King, the latter a Peoria police officer, both of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Shafer; one brother, Eugene R. King; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Smith and Mrs. Eleanor White, all of Peoria. One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
