W. O. Bergeron
Bergeron, W.O. A retired general contractor and a professional race horse owner/trainer, he died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 79 and a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. in the chapel. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. Survived by his wife; two daughters; a son; sister; grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, Margarite Zachary Bergeron; and a brother, Alford Bergeron. He was a lifetime member of the local Operating Engineers, and was on the board of directors of the Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association.
