Mr. Johnny Lamar McDaniel, of Dothan, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016. He was 62.

Johnny was born November 4, 1953 in Dothan to the late Max Rudolph and Katie Welch McDaniel. He was a member of Full Gospel Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed music, fishing, and driving cross country when he was a truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Johnny Lamar McDaniel, II; his brother, Winston Gaines; and his daughter-in-law, Lisa McDaniel.

He is survived by his wife, Frankie McDaniel; his children, Faith McDaniel and Kenneth McDaniel; his step-children, Dina Strickland and her partner, Lee Carpenter and James W. Bailey; his sisters, Melinda (Don) Clements and Maxine York; his brothers, Randall (Diane) McDaniel and Bruce McDaniel; his grandchildren, Gabriel Nelson, Olivia Nelson, Renee Hooter, Marlee Strickland, Billy Norton, Jodie Lowe, and Nicole Sheffield; his five great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Eddie Biss officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Ardilla with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 2 PM until 3 PM, one hour prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Floyd, Craig Anderson, Jeremy McDaniel, David Tyson, David Paden, and Allen Schultz.
