Services for Sylvia June Lee Johnston, 70, Jones, formerly of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2006 at Choctaw Church of Christ. Burial is at 2:00 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. Mrs. Johnston died on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at a Midwest City hospital. She was born December 1,1935, at Scipio, Oklahoma to Mart Allen Lee and Ruth Edna Knight Lee. She moved to Jones in 1964 from Ada. She attended Indianola school and graduated from Indianola High School. Mrs. Johnston earned her Bachelors Degree from East Central University. In 1964 she was the first kindergarten teacher in the Jones Public School System, where she taught kindergarten and 2nd grade for 10 years. She married Philip Johnston on October 28, 1954. Survivors include her husband, Philip Johnston, of the home; two sons, Philip M. Johnston Jr. and his wife Pam, Edmond; and Jon Allen Johnston, Del City; two sisters, Jo Ann Rains and her husband Winfred, Scipio, and Nyta Ballard and her husband Jim, Ada; two grandchildren, Rachel Ann Johnston, Edmond, and Benjamin Michael Johnston, Edmond. Honorary bearers are Oliver Parker, Roy Hanson & Austin Deaton. Criswell Funeral Home Ada, Oklahoma
