Mrs. Genelda Moore Gerrits, age 74, of Lyons, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.
She was a native of Lyons, and lived in Wisconsin for eighteen years where she and her husband were dairy farmers. She and her husband were the owners of G & G Cabinets in Lyons for eighteen years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lyons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Arthur Moore and Mattie Lee Meeks Moore; and four siblings, Lade Williamson, Genevive Ramsey, Luckie Carey, and Eula Ennis.
Mrs. Gerrits is survived by her husband, Jerry Gerrits of Lyons; three children, Tara Gerrits, Rhonda Gerrits, both of Lyons, and Jeremy Gerrits and wife Beth of Baldwin, Wisconsin; one sister, Lynette Brown and husband Paul of Vidalia; three brothers, Larry T. Moore of Lyons, Dale Moore and wife Ginger, and Jerry Moore and wife Janet, all of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Courtney Johnson and husband Blake of Pacific Palisades, California, Gerad Gerrits, Thonetta Gerrits, Alek Gerrits, all of Baldwin; a special sister-in-law, Judy Nye of Stanley, Wisconsin; her “bestest” friend, Lynn Bower of Menomonie, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 10th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Morrow and Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7:00 until 9:00.
