Berneice was born at Qu’Appelle, N.W.T. on April 26, 1904. She moved to Rouleau with her parents where she grew up. She graduated from the Regina Grey Nuns Hospital in 1927. She worked as a nurse in Rouleau until 1939 when she married Harold Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson moved to Shaunavon and ran the Thompson Jewellery Company. Berneice took over the store in 1962 when her husband retired due to health reasons. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, Royal Purple and was active with the Canadian Cancer Society canvass. Berneice was also an avid bridge player.

She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, her husband Harold on April 28, 1973, and one son-in-law Jack Howe.

She is survived by one son, Barry (Gloria) of Calgary, one daughter, Kathleen Howe of Regina, six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
