Don married Lynda Thomas on June 8, 1968 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
He worked as a machine operator for Georgia Pacific Paper Plant retiring from there after many years of service.
He was a member of the Pryor Church of Christ.
Don enjoyed NASCAR and Sprint Car races as well as being outdoors mowing and fishing. He loved his family and all the time he was able to spend with them.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Vickery of the home; his daughters, Belinda Johnson of Pryor, OK, LeAnn Norvell of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma and Terri Chapa of Weatherford, Oklahoma; son, Corby and wife, Karen Thomas of Uxbridge, Massachusetts; his brother, Arlen and wife, Ann Vickery of Hobart, OK; his sister, Kay and husband, Buck Owens of Henniker, New Hampshire; numerous grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ella Lois Vickery; brothers, Bob, Bill, Roy, Orland and Gary Vickery.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the DAV Mayes County Chapter 43.
