LUMBERTON — Mr. James R. Locklear, 49, of 740 Wiregrass Road, Lumberton, N.C., passed away peacefully on March 17, 2016, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Locklear was born on Feb. 2, 1967.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr.Ventrice and Mrs. Nevelyn Smith; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. Hosdon and Mrs. Naomi Locklear.
He is survived by his parents, Earl and Barbara Locklear of Lumberton; a girlfriend of many years, Shannon Hunt of the home; three sons, Joshua Locklear of Lumberton, Austin Hunt of Rowland, Corey King of Raleigh, N.C.; four daughters, Symba Locklear of Lumberton, Ashley (Brooke) Hunt and Sierra Hunt of the home, Layla Kay Locklear of Rowland; a stepdaughter, Chelsey Hunt of the home; two brothers, Ricky Locklear and wife Lisa, Gene A. Locklear, all of Lumberton; a sister, Earlena L. McNeill and husband Mickey of St. Pauls; two granddaughters, Nyla and Presley Locklear, both of Lumberton; and several dear nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, and relatives.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel Lumberton, the Rev. Douglas Campbell and Rev. Sammy Locklear officiating.
Burial will follow in Robeson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
