Mrs Velma Howard Benham, 85 years old of Brandenburg, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Brandenburg, Kentucky. Mrs Benham was a member of Weldon Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Weldon Homemakers and had worked for Worley's Grocery.

She was born January 11, 1931 in the Weldon Community of Meade County, Kentucky the daughter of Wilbur K. Benham and Mary Alliene Trent Benham.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Benham; 3 sisters, Geneva Craig, Bonnie Raymer and Wanda Strong; 2 brothers, Nevitt Benham and Otis Neil Benham.

Mrs Benham is survived by two daughters, Allison (Terry) Cundiff and Carla (Jim) Burns both of Brandenburg, Kentucky; 6 Grandchildren, Jeremy (Megan) Cundiff of Guston, Kentucky, Jennifer (Tim) Smith of Brandenburg, Kentucky, Jay (Kayla) Burns of Brandenburg, Kentucky, Julie (Sean) Meiers of Ekron, Kentucky, Eddie Trice of Fort Hood, Texas and Ginger Trice of Gainsville, Florida; 9 Great Grandchildren, Addi and Emmi Cundiff, Susan, Jenna and Emma Wheeler, Jayson and Landon Burns and Allison Diehl, Gunner and Stella Meiers; 3 Sisters in Law, Mae Benham of Brandenburg, Kentucky, Ramona Benham of Brandenburg, Kentucky and Margie Benham of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; and a special niece and caregiver, Vicki Helm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday from the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with burial in Weldon Christian Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be donations to the Ladies Circle at Weldon Christian Church.
