Ruth Marie Wheeler passed away June 19, 2016, alongside of her loved ones, after a courageous and graceful battle with lung cancer. She was born March 19, 1936. Spunky and vigorous, nothing could dim the spark of this sassy, redhead from Cedar City, Utah whose zest for life lightened all those around her. A strong woman who dedicated her life to raising her family, quilting beautiful masterpieces for those she cherished and a lover of the outdoors whose adventurous spirit shined wherever she went. Whether she be outdoors tending to her cherished garden, playing a hand of video poker, hunting, fishing, traveling, or on a shopping spree at one of her favorite stores, Marie, 80, certainly knew how to live life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wheeler, U.S. Marine Corps veteran; parents, Joseph and Elsie Bess; four sisters; and nine brothers. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her four children, MaNaun Middleton (Chris), Penny McCollum (Steve), Paul Wheeler (Bonnie) and Laura Majors (Michael); seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Keith. Services were previously held.
