LaRue Bess Rowley returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and many family and friends on December 11, 2013.

She was born June 15, 1932 in Cedar City Utah to Joseph B. and Elsie M. Bess. She married Jay Rowley November 25, 1950 in Panaca Nevada. Residing in their home town of Cedar City where they raised 4 children Kevin, Brad (Elaine), Russell (Lori) Rowley of Cedar City and Barbara (Alan) Buoy of St. George. She was a member of the LDS 6th ward where she had many friends. She spent many hours making crocheted baby blankets and tied quilts. Everybody knows her for those
Grandma Rue blankets. She is also very well known for her candy dish and delicious homemade rolls. You could find LaRue any day sitting on her front porch drinking a Diet Coke with her Sister Colleen Murdock.

LaRue is survived by her 4 Children, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brother Keith Bess of Cedar City, and Sister Marie Bess Wheeler of Las Vegas Nevada. She is preceded in death by her husband Jay Rowley, and grandson Brandt Anderson.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
