Louis Severn Cook died peacefully at home on Sunday, June 26, 2016. The son of Clifton and Maurine Cook, Louis was born in 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the eldest of six children. He attended school in Salt Lake County and then served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints in the British Mission. He obtained BS and MS degrees from the University of Utah in Ceramic Engineering.
He married Emily Trejo from Mesa, Arizona. They are the parents of 8 children: Gail (Reed Powell, Jr.), Lois (Zane Mugleston), Elizabeth (Robert Snow), Corene (Jay Derenthal), Cathlene (Stephen Blake), John (Amy), Richard (Rosangela) and Eric (Amber).
A viewing will be held at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W. Riverton, on Thursday, June 30 from 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held the following day at a local LDS Chapel, 13400 S. 2700 W. at 10 A.M. with a viewing one hour prior.
