David Ashley, Sr., 51, of Rt. 1, Charlotte, Tennessee passed away on September 18, 1979 at Parkview Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee.

Survivors included his wife, Edna Estrada Ahsley; of Charlotte; his mother, Mrs. Millie Kane Powell of New York, three sons, David Ashley and Christopher Ashley both of Chrlotte, and Daniel Ashley in the Air Force, Lubbock, Tex., three daughters Miss Valerie Ashley of Knoxville, and Mrs. Christine Groves and Miss Amy Ashley, both of Charlotte, two brothers, Billy Ashley of California and Marty Ashley of New York; and a sister, Kathleen Haskell of New York.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the Air Force. Mr. Ashely was a home office representative for Prudential Insurance Company. A member of the Charlotte Fagan Chapel United Methodist Church, Mr. Ashley was the teacher of a men's Sunday School class. He was the president of the Charlotte Lions Club a member of the Dickson Moose Lodge, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Masons.

Service was held September 20,1979 in the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Cowell and Bro. Jim Dodson conducted the services.
