JOHANNA SCHWANTES

After a lingering illness, Miss Johanna Schwantes, 59, who since the death of her father last fall, has been making her home with her sister, Mrs. Peter Schroeder, 1600 22nd Street, this city, passed away early this morning. Before removing here she resided in the Schwantes homestead west of her on Temporary 17.
Besides her sister, Mrs. Schroeder, one other sister, Mrs. Emma Tanner, California, now here for a stay and three brothers, William, Manitowoc contractor, Julius, Milwaukee and Ernst living on the homestead survive. The deceased was a member of the South Side Evangelical Church and a worker in the Ladies Aid Society of that congregation. The funeral arrangements have not been completed as yet but will take place from the Beduhn and Goetz Mortuary to the Evangelical Church, Rev. Siewert officiating. Announcements of the time will be made Monday.

The funeral of Miss Johanna Schwantes who passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. Peter Schroeder Saturday, took place this afternoon at 1:30 from the Beduhn and Goetz Chapel and at 2 o'clock from the Evangelical Church, with interment at Pioneers Rest Cemetery.
