Arthur W. Bowman, of 417 Lind street, passed away at St. Mary's hospital yesterday morning, at 11:30 o'clock. His malady was unique, and puzzled many physicians. Twelve years ago, he contracted a sore throat, and it is stated that germs of the disease remained, causing a very unusual case of heart trouble, which physicians were unable to combat effectively.

He suffered since, and recently, his condition became so serious that he had to be removed to the hospital for treatment. He was a patient sufferer, and with his physicians, made a brave fight against his ailment, but finally, had to yield to the inevitable.

Mr. Bowman was born near Kingston Illinois, September 16 1883. Nine years ago, he came to Quincy, where he was employed as check clerk at the Electric Wheel Works.

He was of a gentle and amiable disposition, and his friends were limited only by the circle of his acquaintances. He was held in high regard by all, and his death is sincerely mourned by all who knew him.

Four years ago, he was united in marriage to Miss Cora Brown, who, with a mother, father, four sisters and two brothers, survive him.

NB: His father's name is given as J. W. Bowman in a second obituary. A third obituary said he had attended Grace Methodist church regularly.
