Elizabeth Patrick was the daughter of George Callaway and granddaughter of Colonel Richard Callaway of Virginia. William Callaway Jr, her uncle, became her guardian after the death of her father and mother. Her grandfather, Richard was killed by the indians while working on his ferry at Boonebourgh. On 2nd Dec 1787, Elizabeth married John Patrick in Bedford Virginia. They raised twelve children, eight boys and four girls.
