Andy Burkhalter, Age 80 of Nashville Hendersonville. Passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006-born in Athens, AL December 18, 1925. He was the son of the late William Michael Burkhalter and Ivy Mitchell Smith.
Preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Burkhalter Salmon and brother, Elmer Smith Burkhalter.
He is survived by his son, Randall Burkhalter (Sue) and his daughter, Gwen Anderson (Jimmy); his sister, Mattie Burkhalter Davis; his brother, William Burkhalter. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A member of Valley View Baptist Church, attended East High School and was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the 3rd Armoured Division in Europe. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of the Two Rivers Senior Gold League. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that who so ever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Visitation at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Rd., Monday from 4 until 8 p.m., and, where services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. by Ernest Standerfer. Interment Spring Hill. Pallbearers John Burkhalter, William Burkhalter, Clay Strother, Cayle Strother, Corey Turner, Charlie Trombley, Roy Hampton.
